| I have added the "voters" count to the "multiselect" polls. It will, indeed, work only in newly created polls. Voters count is shown as a separate line below the "total votes" result. For the single option polls it's the same as total votes, so it's not shown.
As for the poll editing - what is exactly that you require to edit? I honestly don't get it. If the poll was created with some errors, you can simply create a new one, forgetting the incorrect one. Letting people editing polls is just another oportunity to rig the results. I will not permit to edit the resuls, but if I let to edit the questions it will be still possible to rewrite them in a new wrong order.

I understand that the editing might require more work but would the vote count be something that could have a radio button perhaps for (count each vs count total)? I'm not a programmer but if you use session cookies or the like couldn't you allow edits w/o registration? (You've already got the cookie ability.) Keep up the good work. Cool site!

| About votes count: as they say - it's not a bug, it's a feature.
Indeed, it's no problem to add poll editing and many other possibilities, but this will require user registration and this service was intended for quick and easy creation of simple polls.

| Sorry to say this but your results are skewed.
Try this multiple choice question for starters. Name your favorite flavors of ice cream? Each selection counts as a 'vote' when one vote should really be a singular submital of the form. (e.g. Answering Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, is 1 vote NOT 3). Other than that, I think the polls are a neat idea. I'd suggest two changes. (1) add the ability to edit Pollls before voting begins - in case you make some typo etc... (2) multi question polls would be a nice addition too. Thanks.

| There is a lot of people who turn that off and run bots to skyrocket the poll. I don't really understand why they do this, these polls do not show up in the top anyway, as they are not protected, but people still do this. When there is only one or two of them it's no problem. But they seem to forget about their bots and over time the amount of false hits grows up to enourmous numbers and the server (which is not weak at all) has it's limits anyway.
So we just had to put that image protection there to prevent stupid people from doing stupid things. It works. But the cost is your inconvenience. Regretably I could not think of another way to prevent that stupid behaviour. I'll try to think more.

Even when I have this feature off it asks for image verification which quite often tells me I'm not a human being even when I believe I've put in the correct answers!

| First, I just want to say that this site is great! Polls are super simple to create and to post to our Web site, www.CNewsPubs.com/opinion.
Two quick suggestions (unless I'm just a dunce and can't figure it out) - it would be wonderful if poll creators could select the color and font of the poll's text for display on our Web sites. I've tried altering the HTML code on the Web site to change the color, but it won't change. It looks like a pewter gray and I'd prefer black. It would be nice if there were an option we could select while creating the poll to set the font and color, rather than have to wrestle with it on the Web site the poll would be posted on. Thanks for the consideration, D. Carson Community News Publications Tampa, FL

| As you do not have to register when you create the poll, there is no way for you to alter it's settings after it was created. However I can do this for you and I have done it. There are several other protections based on IP stats, that may affect your voters. Usually they are not a problem, unless your entire audience is from the same place like a school, university or some other establishment. | |

It's generally very rare that service providers monitor activity of the users that closelly as you think. Most of the data is gathered in order to analyse users activity on account of making the service more suited for their needs, preventing service interruptions (hacks, etc.) and better targeting of the advertizing. But definitelly not to police the users. It's not our function and it's not profitable. However there are common rules and laws that everyone should complain with. If you post something that is illegal - someone can report it. In this case we should oversee the issue and remove any illegal materials if there are trully such. And in this case any available data of the user who posted the materials MAY be transferred to proper authorities. Don't do anything illegal and no one will care about what you publish in internet. P.S. A swearing is not against any common law.

| Well after all the searching I have done I am going to do it. I am going to use this forum service to stay in touch with freinds and family. I actually like the way the message box is at the top the more I think about it. Because then it is always at the top. Do you really need that side note stuff that says, "the following tags are supported" ect? Its a little cluttery. Hmmm. I mean does that have to be on the forum? People using a forum aren't nessisarily interested in image hosting or file sharing. The UBB code thing. Hmm. I don't think most know what a UBB code is. I know a forum is not the best solution. In the long run browzers and individual computers need more autonomy, no offense. But for now I would rather use a forum than email. It is much easier to create a new account if something goes wrong. It is much simpler. All messages are right in front of me instead of having to open them up. And I don't have to worr about a whole bunch of spam, at least as it stands. So my question is what is your policy concerning these forums? Are they generaly up to user discretion as to what content they contain? My veiw on policy would be that 'only' thus and such is 'not' allowed. That's the way I think such things should be structured. I think pornagraphy and swearing should be the 'only' things banned. So to get down to it what is your policy? Do you generaly read or not read other people's forums? | |

Even though an official or president gets voted in in our country, public opinion my change after the fact and an ordinary vote will not reflect that.

| your polls need something lacking. Rather than having to go to a seperate page to veiw results I should be able to see the results emediately when I veiw the page that the vote button is on. I should be able to see those results change instantly as I select my opinion and push the vote botton and all on the same page. Its just cleaner and more fun to look at and interact with that way. And rather than actualy seeing the page refresh or needing to refresh it I should just see the change I made instantly. | |
