Sam, you have always amazed me. When I was a youngster in Boston I splurged and bought your 45's and listened to them with all the neighborhood kids over and over again.
What a joy to find this site.
Funny enough, I now live where you hail from, Dallas!

I can still remember the picture taken all those years ago in our home, like it was yesterday, although I have certainly changed alot. I am now 40 and have 2 daughters, one 16 and one 19 and I have told them all about you. Dad told me about the great work that you do.If you get a chance, drop me a few lines, I put my email on the registry, it would be great to hear from you.

Hi Sam,
How are you? I use to live across the street from you in Irving Texas on Laramie. My Mom use to babysit your son Dee. I was pretty young then and I'll never forget one afternoon me and my sister was playing dress up and we we're walking down the alley behind your house and you took a picture of us. Thanks for the great memories!

I went to Memphis in about a year ago to see Stax Records and the Gibson Guitar factory. Down the street from Gibson, I went into a shop that had a lot of memorabilia of local artists. I asked why I had not seen anything about you. I said "Sam is from Memphis." She then pointed out one of your jackets and said that you had been in there from time to time. I told her that my band fronted for you one time on the beach in Panama City, FL. It was so cold that day that they had fire barrels for the crowd to warm up. The stage was facing away from the ocean and the wind was blowing right into our faces. You and the band put on a great show. I also remember seeing you at Duke Rumore's dances in Birmingham that we also played at many times. I asked you one night about the words in Wooly Bully "Let's not be L7, square, man. We were not quite sure what you were saying on the record. I also related to the shop keeper how you used to say, "Do you want to hear something fast and ragged,....or something slow and ragged?" I'm very glad I found your website. Thanks for the memories.

I wonder if you remember meeting with an "Offshore" helicopter pilot at Ingleside Base, Texas in early 1979. Your inspirational words made a great difference in my life, and prompted me to seek a deeper relationship with God. I no longer fly, but I still soar! You are no "sham" to me; you are the "Real Deal."

In 1967 just before my high school graduation a group of us
were riding around town singing along with the radio. Little
Red Riding Hood came on. When it ended one of the guys said,
"Man we got to start a band so we can do that song". We begged
our parents and to our surprise within a month we all had
instruments and began learning what else? Little Red Riding
Hood. I continued singing and formed my own bands over the
twenty-five plus years of performing. I still pick up the
guitar from time to time and find myself walking down from
G to Em and why it's Little Red Riding Hood again. Thanks
for the inspiration. When my wife and I quit performing in
1991 (except at church) Wolly Bully was still in our songlist.

What a great time at Mohegan Sun. You certainly did steal the show. I was glad to hear Wooly Bully clearly, as the copy I have on 45 is about worn through - one of the all time great hits. Even my stuffy old father liked only two rock and roll songs - "Little Darlin" and "Wooly Bully". He had an ear for greatness.

a great groove. The only song I know that starts off on a seventh chord, and
then stays there. Thanks for your great music. Sam Leandro

We had no idea who you were, but "Monty" told me later. We're big fans of yours and always regretted not knowing who Sam Samudio was when we met. We're in Northwest Arkansas now and would like to see you erform sometime.

Understand you will be performing at the Iowa State Fair this fall. I will be attending your show.

Back in 66 or 67 can't remember which for sure, Sam the Sham and the Pharoes played a Battle of the Bands at the Val Air Ballroom in Des Moines IA. One of the other local bands playing there that night was the "Thunderbirds". I was a member of the "Thunderbirds" at that time and I'm sorry to say I didn't get the chance to meet you that night.

The Thunderbirds broke up shortly thereafter due to military obligations of four of it's members but one of the high lights of our playing days was the Battle of the Bands with your group.

Recently, the Thunderbirds have gotten back together after being inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Music Association's Hall of Fame. We play covers of your "Wooly Bully" and "Little Red Riding Hood" songs at most of our performances, along with our own 45 songs and other covers. If you are interested in seeing what a revived after 40 year lay out band looks like, check our web site at .

Is there any possibility that we could meet when you play Des Moines Ia this fall for the Iowa State Fair? It would be a thrill after all these years to get to meet you since I didn't back in 66/67!
