| I just turned 54 years old on September 12, and was thinking back on my life. I thought about my childhood and for some reason, rembembered my total fascination as a kid in about 1965 with Sam the Sham and the Pharoahs. Growing up in north-west Canada, the jukebox was my introduction to popular music. When I heard "Wooly Bully" blasting out the speakers one day, I was utterly hooked and every time I got the chance, I played that song. All these years later, that's a great memory. However, it's only now with the Internet that I can do some research on Sam the Sham. Thanks for the information. I wish I could hear all the records because the songs that are listed look really interesting. What a great band and good luck to you. | |

| Hey Sam, I hope you remember me. I was your road manager for six weeks during a tour in the summer in 1968. Your regular roadie cancelled out because his brother was killed in Vietnam and since I was available I was assigned the task. We traveled around the northeast and one of my tasks was to keep guys out of the "Shametts" room. They were the girl backup singers you brought along for the tour. Sadly, I had to leave the tour early to return to college. I'll never forget you paid me 300 dollars out of your own pocket because you knew my uncle, Morris Levy, was keeping all of my wages to pay for college.
you told me I was the best roadie you ever had and I did work my butt off doing what I could to make the tour successful. We traveled with Tommy James[Morris' act] as well as Keith and his Wild Kingdom and another band that were famous for the "Snoopy and the Red Baron" songs. I now live in Boulder, Colorado and am in the jewelry business. Anyway I wanted to let you know how much fun I had those 6 weeks in my 18th year of life. I wish you all the best, good health and happiness. Your roadie, Neal

| Thanks Sam for the music you created, I LOVED "Ain't Gonna Move" haven't heard it in a long time. Man, you guys could actually play jazz... amazing band! I used to play my bass along with "Wooly Bully" when I was learning, that was in 1967 growing up in Queens, N.Y.. That record was number one for like forever in N.Y. in '65! Now, after nearly 35 years as a professional bassist, I play "Wooly Bully" in the band I'm in today. We play the casino circuit in Reno, Tahoe and elsewhere. It always gets a great response with the audience, and I still love to play it! | |

| Sam,
I met you on a flight from Laguardia to Syracuse, while you were enroute to Binghamton, NY for a show. I spoke with you about the fact that the US Air Force was forcing me out due to the massive downsizing in 2006. You had asked me to let you know how it all worked out... Well... After getting Senator Clinton, Senator Schumer, and Congressman Jim Walsh involved, the USAF took a good look at my case and determined that they had in fact made a mistake in involuntarily separating me due to an administrative error. In the words of the USAF HQ Personnel Division, it was an "injustice." So, I was reinstated after having been forced out for 15 months, I was given credit for a good year toward retirement, my record was corrected, and I am now in my 17th year of service, and am a Major. One step further... I recieved a letter yesterday in the mail from HQ USAF stating that I will be paid for a portion of the year that I had been involuntarily forced out of the service due to the downsizing. Needless to say, I've found that you CAN fight City Hall and win! I just wanted to let you know the outcome of the potentially career ending story. I recently volunteered for an active duty tour, and started in early July 2008 on my one year tour. Kindest regards, Sean VanHoltz

You are IT man! I have been loving your music ever since I was a kid. Wooly Bully is one of my favorite songs. Whenever I hear it, I still think of that scene in the movie "Splash" where he's on teh boat and falls off, while the song plays in the background. I too grew up in the country and our neighbor had a bull which my grandma named Wooly Bully. However, I think my favorite Pharoahs song has got to be "Little Red Riding Hood." Whenever I get together with my buddies for a jam session, I always have to play that AT LEAST once! You rock! The sixties are hands down the best era in music in my book, and you are on of the kings! Well, time to go pop into my 67 Mustang, turn up your music on the iPod, and take off down the open road. From one Mexican American to another, "Gracias para todo la musica!" Valdez Bravo, Portland, Oregon

My Dad was a fan and he instilled that same love of music in his children. I remember there was this boy who lived across the street from my Grandma. He visited her all the time, I became jealous of the relationship. He ended up in one of my classes at school. His name was Demetrius, we called him D. I'll never forget the day my Dad told me who D's Dad was. Sam the Sham. Although I was jealous of D I always thought of him and wondered about him. I hope he is well. He was so kind to my grandmother who is still alive and well. I wish you well, thanks for the memories of beloved music. There's nothing like dancing and singing with my grandkids to Wooly Bully!
