| Dear Sam, I just downloaded the Pharaohs' first album, as well as your solo album, Hard & Heavy (which took a while to find) and I have to say that both are great records and I am very glad to have been introduced your music. But I have a question. I was watching the Clash's video for their song "The Call Up" and as I was watching, I noticed that the mailman in the beginning bore a striking resemblance to you...so...is that you there?. I know that Joe Strummer made references to Woolly Bully during live performances of their song "Capital Radio," and I just thought that it would be really neat if that was you in that video. | |

| Hello Sam, I wanted to share with you the impact your song Wooly Bully had on my Mom. For years, whenever that song came on the radio, she would stop whatever she was doing, grab one of us six kids by the hand and dance around the room to the music. If she was in a down mood, Wooly Bully always cheered her up and made her happy. I used to call her from my cell phone just to let her listen to it when I was in the car. She loved the song. Yesterday we buried my mother at the age of 79, and as a tribute to a fun loving mother who always made us laugh, we played it at her funeral. It brought the house down and sent her on her journey on a positive note. Thank you for helping to make our memory a great one.

I had heard your name mentioned a few times in the past and thought I would throw the question out there to see if you remember him. Earl past away in 1971, but has a beautiful family (kids and grandkids) that would love to hear som stories of those days.... Kind Regards, Peter Woolf

I played in a band in Greenville,MS, with Bill Hudson between 1964 and 1967. He was around 16-18 years old and one hell of a fast lead guitar player. He left the group for Redstone Aesenal, Alabama, (Air Force?) and married his girlfriend Sheila (?) both in the same month. He loved to have fun by peeling the tires off the rims of his Dad's car. If this is the same guy he probably is pulling your leg about recording for The Sham. however, this Bill Hudson was so good with a guitar that he could probably put most recording company guitarists to shame. Have him get in touch with me, I would like to see him again. Ron

hoping to help solve the problem Mr. C. Perhaps this is where the problem lies? All the very, very best, Your old fan Waltraud from Germany

Finally the Barracks M.A. said to me,"Aw Sam; go on down to "Personel" and re-up. You know you're a lifer". My response was; "Man just throw that gate open; and let the High Breeze Hit me. Don't look for me unless you see me comin.' And don't hold your breath while I'm gone". The fact of the matter was; I really didn't have anywhere to go. I had joined the Navy right out out of High School. The only ones at home were Daddy and me. Mama had died when we were kids. Brother and Sis had left. While I was in the Navy, Dad had left too (no "Po Me" story; just a fact). I knew a "Morgan", in A.T. school. But he was from (as he use to say); "West by God, Virginia". Anyway, I'm gonna try to make the next Vaper reunion. Sounds like fun. God bless you. If you see a red pickup comin down the highway, with a black & white dog on the passenger side, that's us. If the dog is driving; I'm probably in the back seat sleepin'. We'll probably be on our way to Louisiana. She's a good driver. She was on her way to the dog catcher's truck and the gas chamber, when I took the noose off her neck. I told 'em both, she wasn't goin'. That's all I needed, was another dog. I guess I'll have to find a pony now. If you see a red pickup with a dog driving; and a pony on the passenger's side; call the law. I will have found a pony and they're probably out joy riding without permission. You're right! I'm still Crazy.
