| I too knew Fr. Moran but only on the air. I was operating as EP2DI/Teheran , Iran, 1977-78. I passed some welfare traffic from the local catholic priest to 'MORAN" and had many conversations with him and an invitation to come to Kathmandu, didn't get to go, but later friends from Saudi Arabia (I lived there too) visited Nepal and at my suggestion attempted to look him up--he was on a visit elsewhere but the mere mention of his name opened many doors making their visit special. My special interest today is in the coax length, exciter to MLA 2500B. Good stuff, thanks alot, Gary. | |

| How do the antennas rotate without tangling in the guy wires!
Antenna here is a 80M Windom, running N-S, at 50 feet, and power is 100 watts from a Yaesu FT-857D. Not a big ststion, but FUN here in northeastern NH 73's

| Hi Mike,
good QSO this afternoon whilst the news reporter (Laura)was in the shack. Her story not so much about me,but the guy who is on the QSL card for this special callsign. His name is Harry Patch, and is the oldest surviving soldier who fought in the trenches in WW1.He now resides in an old folks home not far from here.I too started my working life in wire manufacturing,(Neville Druce)long taken over,I didn't take the management route, have remained an electrician until recent retirement. 73 de Viv G4PLY
